About this Course
The intent of these classes is to enable best practices of point cloud extraction, linework finalization & QA/QC as well as exporting procedures - all within a 3D CAD environment.

Day 1
Overview of the TopoDOT Process
- Introduction to TopoDOT
- Introduction to the 3D CAD Environment
Introduction to Feature Extraction
- Loading, Navigating and Interacting with Point Clouds
- Accessing Local and/or Cloud-Based Datasets
- Creating new features: points, lines, polygons, etc.
Tracing and Draping Procedures
- Edge of Materials and Terrain Breaks
- Buildings, Sidewalks, Lane Markings and Ditches
Extraction of Roadway Paint
- Lane Lines
- Symbology (Arrows and Text)
- Pedestrian Crossings
Day 2 & 3
Extraction of Hard and Soft Breaks
- Curb & Gutter
- Jersey Barriers
- Ditch (top and toe)
- Guardrails
Extraction of Complex Features
- Driveways, Pedestrian Ramps and Drop Inlets
- Sidewalks and Steps
Break-line Editing or Creating from existing Elements
- Overview of element modification tools
- Use cases for modifying, splitting and merging elements
- Best practices for element modification (arcs, corners, etc.)
Extraction of Hard and Soft Terrain Points
- Road and Crown Shots
- Ground Shots
Day 4
Extraction of Hard and Soft Terrain Points
- Survey Points
- Vertical Objects (signs, poles, trees, etc.) & Outline Canopies
- Flat Objects (valves, manholes, etc.)
Introduction to Attribution
- Overview of attribute types for elements
- Applying and editing attributes
- Defining attribute schemas
Drawing Finalization
- Introduction to QA/QC tools
- Understanding and fixing terrain errors
- Ensuring linework consistency
Exporting
- Overview of exporting options
- Feature Code Export for ORD
- Element-Attribution Export for GIS
- Best practices for maintaining linework integrity
Day 5
Comprehensive Workflow Review
